ISOmatrix Newsletter

October 14, 2008

Welcome to our new ISOmatrix Newsletter.  We have set this up as a way to keep our industry contacts informed on a few of the most relevant business drivers in our Quality Systems industry, address some FAQ's, and to create a vehicle to announce some of our new client certifications.  Our success is based on the satisfaction of our clients and on their referrals to friends, vendors, and customers.  With that in mind, we are sending these newsletters out only to our internal contacts and customers.  Opt out if you don't want to see it again.  Or, forward this email to anyone who you feel we can support.

ISO Systems Development and "FULL Implementation"

In recent months a majority of our work has surrounded a few key ISO standards.  Most notably, ISO 9001, AS9100, and ISO 14001.  Since we focus most of our effort in California, this is not surprising.  We have a strong California aerospace industry and directives from the Aerospace Primes for their suppliers to comply with AS9100 certainly drives the urgency.  We have also seen more of our clients opt for our "Full Implementation" package which goes beyond the development of just the required Quality Management System documentation and extends to the physical implementation and deployment of the system throughout the organization.  For our clients, the decision to request this deeper involvement from ISOmatrix is purely financial.  If they can keep their internal resources producing money-making parts while a top-notch, experienced specialist implements their system, they get the best of both worlds.

Does Outsourcing Quality functions like Internal Auditing really cost less?

Internal Audits and your other ongoing QMS activities take resources.  If the internal personnel resources used for auditing come from production or management, then the money-making products normally produced by those employees are not made.  The opportunity cost of that un-made product is lost revenue during the time those employees are re-directed towards quality systems functions.  Outsourcing Internal Audits to ISOmatrix can result in significant financial and quality improvements.

There is a great article in Quality Digest on this very topic.  Go to our home page (www.isomatrix.com)and scroll down to Industry News/Articles.
